The program: The government has through the endeavors of Nedlac and The Department of Labour, established a Social Plan initiative to support companies that are not as profitable as they should be and that are expecting job losses. The Social Plan provides access to consulting services, to evaluate and develop turnaround strategies to businesses that are faced with the numerous challenges associated with the current market dynamics. The initiative is primarily earmarked to help you: - prevent job losses; - evaluate financial, process, and business performance; and - implement business turnarounds initiatives for businesses that experience a downturn. How the Social Plan initiative works: Under this programme, a substantial portion of the consulting fees are paid on behalf on the client. The client is a Future Forum that is comprised of representatives from the company, employees and union members. This will enable the company to benefit from a thorough evaluation of their operations, capacity building and the implementation of a turnaround strategy, implemented by experienced business consultants. Benefits to your business: The effective implementation of a turnaround strategy should result in the company regaining stability, returning to profitability, and restoring confidence in its continued survival. Productivity South Africa assumes responsibility for the implementation and project management of the interventions, through a network of accredited service providers. Your business must meet the following qualifying criteria: - have more than fifty employees; - have a business case for future survival and growth; - are contemplating or faced with employee retrenchments; and - fulfil on the evaluation and registration criteria of the initiative. |
